I was born and raised in Southern California where I attended North Hollywood High School and played baseball. I then attended Los Angeles Valley College, eventually finishing my collegiate playing career at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dominguez Hills was nationally ranked while I was a member of those teams, and I was eventually given the opportunity to play professional baseball in the San Francisco Giants organization. I played three years for the Giants before returning to school to finish my Bachelor's degree and begin my teaching and coaching career. I have served as an assistant coach at the junior college level, as well as a head coach at all high school levels for more than 20 years. I am the father of 8 wonderful daughters and am married to my best friend. Family, faith, education, and baseball are the main priorities in my life. I teach TV Broadcasting and Video Production, as well as Careers at Corner Canyon.
My philosophy: I believe (and know from experience) that hard work, perseverance, commitment to always doing what's right, belief in self, and belief in team are the primary ingredients to success. I love the game of baseball because you don't have to be the biggest, fastest, or strongest to be successful. I know if we focus on fundamentals and practice with purpose we WILL become better ballplayers and a better team. Being able to play baseball is a privilege, not a right. I expect my players to be leaders on and off the field. There comes a day when all players will no longer be able to play the game and it is always my hope that the lessons learned on the diamond will help my players to be quality young men who are pillars in their community. I have been fortunate to have the game of baseball a part of my life since I was 12 years old. I am honored to continue that privilege at Corner Canyon High School. Go Chargers!
